Dentistry & Digital Dental Radiography
Maintaining your pet’s oral health is one of the most important thing you can do to help them live longer, more pain-free lives. Poor oral hygiene can lead to periodontal disease, tooth loss and other serious health problems such as heart, liver and kidney failure. Research indicates that proper oral hygiene may extend your pet’s life by two to five years.

At Bowman Animal Hospital, we have made a strong commitment to dental health and have built a suite solely dedicated to dentistry. This suite boasts two fully equipped dental stations as well as a digital dental radiography unit. During a dentistry procedure, your pet’s teeth are scaled and polished, gingival pockets are measured and a set of full-mouth radiographs are taken to determine any root damage or need for extractions. Our doctors will keep in touch during the dental procedure and will notify you if they find anything that needs to be addressed while your pet is under anesthesia.
Every examination at our hospital includes a thorough dental screening. The veterinarian and technician will grade your pet’s teeth and discuss a life-long treatment plan, which includes regular dental cleanings. There have been major advances in veterinary dental home-care products, and our team will help you develop a plan that best suits you and your pet.
